This blog is all about books. I love to read and have a big library of books. I am also in full time ministry and have a great selection for my ministry library. The reviews on this blog are totally my own opinions on the books I read. Some of those books have been provided for free by certain publishers. They do not pay me to review the books. I will also review books that I personally purchase as well. So grab a cuppa and take a look see at some great books.

These Are The Days....

These Are The Days of Elijah  by: R.T. Kendall

I enjoyed this book so much I am on my second read. Yes, the second read of this book. Mr. Kendall has wonderful insight on the prophet Elijah. He brings the life of Elijah into the relevant life of the believer for today. Anyone who has a call on their life to ministry should read this book, as it will impart wisdom on the life of the prophet Elijah with a relevance for those in ministry today. Mr. Kendall brings the life of Elijah out into the open with a freshness like never before. This book has so many biblical truths that we can apply to our own lives today and be used in a powerful way as Elijah was used in his time.

Unlikely Suitor....

An Unlikely Suitor by: Nancy Moser

The beginning of the book was a little slow and boring to me. Yet I did continue to read and it did get better the further into the book I read. I think the beginning of the book was too slow and filled with too much information before the core of the story comes about. Also, I think the younger sister is so spoiled that you cannot really stand her character. But the main character is wonderful. Likewise, it may seem a little too much that three women fall in love with three men of different social class during the time period and all have a happily ever after. If you keep in mind that this is fiction then this book will be a good read for you. If you can get through the slow beginning then you will appreciate this book. It is a lovely story about falling in love and allowing God to have His way in your life. Even with the slow start I recommend this book as a good read.

A Change...

A Change of Fortune: by Jen Turano

This is the first time I have read a book by Ms. Turano and I fell in love with the characters almost immediately. After losing her inheritance by theft, she braves the world to go to America in search of the man who stole it from her. This is an action packed book that you do not want to put down. It is a great read and will leave you wanting more from the characters within the pages. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a great adventure without having to leave home. I will be looking for more books by this author. A great read.

Whirlwind....

Into The Whirlwind  by: Elizabeth Camden

This book is well written in the sense of being historically correct. Mollie, the focus of the book is upon her and her desire to rebuild her watch company after the great fire of Chicago. As stubborn and willful heroines goes, Mollie is there! If you like strong willed women then you will enjoy this book. It jumps right into the fire from the first moments of the book, giving the reader a great adventure from the get go. As each character comes to life in this book it spurs you to continue reading. It is a great read and if you like fast paced and willful you will enjoy this book.

The Icecutter's Daughter

The Icecutter's Daughter by: Tracie Peterson

If you have ever grown up in a house full of men, then this book will bring back memories of having over protective older brothers. This is a well written book and the characters are very believable. The pace is good, which to me is important in this type of book. I found that there were no lagging or boring sections in this book, which is a rarity in this day and age. I found lots of humor from the enduring characters in this book. They are both realistic and funny at times. I would give this book a thumbs up and would recommend it to my friends. This is the first book by Tracie Peterson that I have read and I will be reading more of her works.

Happy Reading,
Wendy

The Bridesmaid...

The Bridesmaid by Beverly Lewis...

Anyone who has ever read a Beverly Lewis book will love this one...once again this beloved author has brought out real to life characters for this book. This is the second book in the Hickory Hollow series and like all of Ms. Lewis's books is wonderful and true to the Amish way of life. This is a very clean and wholesome book that I am sure anyone who loves a good story will love. This love story will touch the heart of every romantic. Love it seems does find a way.

Enjoy,
Wendy

Biblical Wisdom...

The Secrets of Biblical Wisdom by Kyle Searcy.

This book is a wonderful book for anyone who would like to have more wisdom in their life. The writing and format of this book is good. I found many wonderful principles that can be applied to the believers daily life. Mr. Searcy is very insightful on the subject of wisdom for a believers life. If you are in a position of leadership I would recommend this book for reading. The principles in this book will help leaders apply wisdom to every area their lives and help with dealing with those whom they are over. I highly recommend this book.
Keep those pages turning,
Wendy
